For many, the thought of tying a necktie is an unrealistic vision which just doesn’t work. That perfect triangular knot is often off-center or a complete mess.  For many, the solution was a clip-on tie. They would never have existed if there hadn’t been people who couldn’t tie a necktie and make that perfectly triangular knot. Somehow though, that seemed like cheating and society frowned on those who wore the clip-ons. Obviously, the idea of tying the perfect necktie is a task that puzzles many people, young and old, men and women. How does anyone figure out this complicated knotting?...

Okay, so I have to admit; when I read about “Learn To Tie A Tie With The Rabbit And The Fox: Story With Instructional Song” I did laugh just a bit – I mean, why can’t mum or dad just do the parent thing and dish the dirt on how to tie a tie.  Then it dawned on me; Sybrina Durant’s book uses both song and humour to teach boys and girls about tying ties – to be honest, I don’t think I know a tie-tying song off the top of my head.  I also don’t see the humour in the whole business so perhaps a book is not such a bad idea?

Learn to Tie a Tie with The Rabbit and The Fox is an adorable story that helps teach an important skill.  This book is written by Sybrina Durant and illustrated by Donna Marie Naval.  It is a colorful, short story that is very entertaining.   My boys never wear ties-we go to a casual church, and for weddings and such I've always had them wear button-up shirts with no ties or polo shirts.  So, when it was time for my oldest son's first formal dance, he didn't know how to tie his tie!  Guess what? ...Read More

Extraordinarily, the story interjects a concept well worth developing and that is the notion that a school boy is able to do two things at once as a boy is perfectly illustrated when he thinks about something else while learning. ...

What a clever idea this is and what a fun little gift for the holidays or a birthday!  It teaches children how to tie the basic and most popular knot that has always been known as the “Four in Hand” type of knot or method. The book can be read to children, and the author even suggests bringing out a couple of old ties and using them as a little family project to demonstrate. Now, granted, not every child is interested in, or needs to know about, tying a tie. But many children will show interest, I’m sure. ...
