Eric Carle proves once again (at least to me) that he’s the Master of the sound book. Although it has a 3+ recommendation because there are some simple exercises in it, my 2 year old son adores this book. Not only does it hold his interest, he has also learned quickly from it. The book is sturdy, colorful and features a variety of animals and their sounds, numbers 1-10 & several different colors. The simple exercises are beyond my LO at the moment but theres so much going on it matters not.

I would also highly recommend `Around the Farm”, another great sound book by this Author of the famous Hungry Caterpillar.

Please note however, that Around the Farm isn’t a board book so your LO might rip some of the pages out. Or attempt to eat them. Or both. You know the drill!

My son is 3 and can’t get enough of this push-button sound book. He loves animals and imitating the sounds they make, so he has enjoyed Eric Carle’s Around the Farm– but now this book incorporates animals and their sounds, counting, colors and simple exercises using dry-erase marking and writing! So he’s occupied and everybody’s happy. Oh, and as expected, great colorful illustrations.
