Since I am the only one that is left handed in my family a shoe salesman taught me to tie my shoes. My kids learned from my husband with the bunny around the tree method.
I can tell you I’m no good at teaching anything like shoe tying. I don’t know how to explain something I do that quickly by rote.
Both of our kids learned to tie their shoes very quickly. We used the big loop method. Was much easier.
We did the bunny around the tree method! We also used the wooden practice shoes! 🙂

I remember that it took me a while to learn how to tie my shoes. I haven’t had to teach anyone else yet, so we’ll see how it goes when that time comes.
Practice makes perfect! We practiced so many times with our first born! She did get there eventually 😊
Making up a song helps and makes it fun
You start by making bunny rabbit ears with the laces.
I am a very visual learner and I think having an illustrated book step by step is great!
Practice a little every day and try different techniques if one isn’t working.

growing up we used the bunny ears method and it worked great for me but not so good for my daughter. she is 8 and still cant tie her shoe. we did bunny ears method, i tried teaching her step by step. she will get it when she is ready.
We had a hard time teaching our daughter, so her brother actually taught her. lol
