Pénélope Doucet5.0 out of 5 stars She-Ra, chapter book #2 Reviewed in Canada on October 8, 2019Verified Purchase
This second story gives us a glimpse of Adora and Swift Wind’s relationship. It also talks about the island of the magical creatures, as the title suggests. The content goes alongside the Netflix episodes, and adds another story to the mix. I would highly suggest watching the show and not only reading the books, because they are not a direct follow up in the storyline from book 1 and 2 (they really are written for fans of the show).
This second book does not have the same illustrator, but the images are beautiful and similar to the show nonetheless. The first one had purple/pink illustrations and text, but this one is all printed in black and white. As the first one, each chapter starts with an illustration of a scene in the said chapter.
Overall, I would recommend this book to fans of Netflix’s She-Ra tv series. The writing is not too difficult, but not for a beginner’s reader. I enjoyed it, and cannot wait for the third one!
GoodReads Review
Anne (ReadEatGameRepeat) rated it really liked it · review of another edition Shelves: newts-magical-readathon-2019 I read the first book earlier in the month and that book was basically just a book version of an episode. This wasn’t really the case for this book, it was a wholly original story set sometime in either season 2 and 3 (I might be wrong on that, it doesn’t really say). That being said it did really feel just like an actual episode of the series and I could see it fitting in somewhere in the series.
