Our six year old girl was engaged by the story within a few chapters, and once we finished it, we had to buy both the others in the series! There is nothing disturbing or negative. It’s a perfect fantasy story for a 5+ kid who loves animals. Very well written and fun for the grownups too (as opposed to some other simpler series, like The Nevergirls and Judy Moody, which our daughter also enjoyed.)

This was a fantastic story! The story was full of good lessons about luck, pet ownership and hard work. My children were so enraptured by the fire-breathing dragons and unicorns they didn’t even realize they were learning anything. With an intriguing plot, phenomenal illustrations and magical animals for adoption, I cannot wait to read more books from this series. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
