Nix’s Story
Nix the Nickel-Horned Unicorn can detect when another unicorn is in danger and he can arrive in the nick of time to nix any disaster. He is a steel gray unicorn with a horn that looks like a lightening bolt. Nix is called Brave Nix Nickel Horn – Defender of the Unicorns. When he senses another unicorn from the tribe of metal horns is in danger his metal horn acts like a compass to magically take him to the location of the danger. His horn has the blasting power of 10 sticks of dynamite. He can also use his horn to induce rashes, itching and blisters on creatures trying to cause harm to others.
Nix the Nickel-Horned unicorn is one of the most unique and powerful unicorns in the entire land of unicorns. With his strength, resilience, and magical abilities, he is the ultimate defender of the tribe of metal horns. As quick as a bolt of lightning, Nix can sense danger miles away and flash to the location in the blink of an eye.
Born with a steel gray hide and a horn shaped like a bolt of lightning, Nix has always been a unique unicorn among his peers. When others would look for adventure and excitement in the fields and mountains, Nix would spend hours by himself, honing his magical powers and trying to perfect his ability to sense danger.
It didn’t take long for Nix’s unique abilities to be recognized by the leaders of the tribe of metal horns. They quickly realized that Nix’s powers could be of immense help in protecting the other unicorns who were surrounded by potential threats on every side. His sense of alertness, knowledge of the surroundings, remarkable sense of smell, and exceptional hearing abilities have earned him unparalleled respect and love from all unicorns. As a savior, he’s always ready to help. As a messenger of love, Nix demonstrates that love knows no boundaries.
Nix’s powers are no less than a miracle. He possesses the ability to detect when another unicorn is in danger from miles away. His senses are so sharp that he can even sense the slightest danger or threat that might be invisible to the naked eye.
Once he senses that a fellow unicorn is in danger, Nix’s horn activates itself like a compass pointing in the direction to follow to save the other unicorn. He swoops down on the wicked perpetrator like a true hero would.
Nix’s horn is one of the most powerful of all the unicorns in his tribe. It is said that his horn has the magical blasting power of ten sticks of dynamite. Whenever Nix feels the need to protect, he can unleash the full power of his horn, which can decimate even the largest and strongest of enemies. Nothing can stand in the way of a determined Nix.
But Nix’s powers don’t end there. He can also use his horn to induce rashes, itching, and blisters on creatures who are trying to cause harm to others. This magical skill is reserved for only the most wicked and evil, who dare to threaten the peace and prosperity of the land of unicorns.
Nix’s skills and abilities have made him a legend among unicorns. He is the go-to protector among the metal horns, who always has their best interests at heart. He has thwarted countless attacks and defeated many enemies that would have otherwise brought death and destruction to the tribe.
Nix the Nickel-Horned Unicorn is a figure worth emulating because he embodies qualities that reflect the best in humanity. The world needs more people like Nix, who are guided by compassion and responsibility, dedicated to protecting and preserving life, whether human, animals, or other creatures. Nix proves that in times of crisis, superheroes come in all shapes and sizes, and just like Nix is waiting to save the day, we too can be superheroes every day. All it takes is a little bit of love, a lot of selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to a higher cause.
In the Magical Elements of the Periodic Table Presented Alphabetically By The Metal Horn Unicorns, readers are briefly introduced to Nix, the Nickel Horned Unicorn. Nix is one of the metal horn unicorns featured in the Journey To Osm collection of books by Sybrina Durant.

The Metal Horn Unicorns Make Science Magical
This periodic table reference page is brought to you by the Magical Elements of the Periodic Table Presented Alphabetically By The Metal Horn Unicorns book. They say, “No Metal – No Magic…and No Technology”.
In this unique alphabet book, members of the Metal Horn Unicorn Tribe present 26 Magical Elements of the Periodic Table in alphabetical order. Each member of the tribe has a metal horn and hooves. They also have magical powers based on the properties of their metals.
Alumna starts out the book by introducing the very necessary metal, aluminum, on her element page. Dr. Zinko rounds out the alphabet by presenting facts and other fun information about the metal, zinc, on his element page. Other members of the Metal Horn Tribe from Unimaise, plus some of their magical elemental friends, will give some great insight into the properties of 23 additional pure metals from the periodic table.
There is one special unicorn in the book whose horn and hooves are an alloy created by combining copper and zinc. Cornum, the Brass Horned unicorn will reveal some interesting things about that metal.
While not all elements in the Periodic Table are represented by letters of the alphabet, some in this book, are introduced by alternate designations. For instance, Tungsten is also known as Wolfram so “W” is used as the entry for that alphabetical letter in this book. The letter “W” is also used as the atomic symbol for tungsten in all periodic tables.
Each element page in this book contains terms that might not be completely familiar. Refer to the definitions in the back of the book to get a clear understanding of each meaning. There is also a fun unicorn themed Periodic Table at the back of the book.
The Metal Horn unicorns from Unimaise and their other techno-magical unicorn friends are the perfect group to introduce you to metals and other elements in the Periodic Table. Hopefully the Magical Elements of this periodic table book will spark an interest in the magical and real world properties of all the metals and other elements known today. You may be surprised at how prominently they feature in our every day lives.
