Praise for Craig Zerf …

“What a ride! Best series I’ve read in years.”

“This is a finely tuned action fantasy that will be appreciated by all lovers of the genre. Exciting, thought provoking and darn good fun. Recommended most highly.”

“Absolutely one of the most engrossing stories I have ever readStarted out just like every dystopian TEOTWAWKI story but then it takes a sharp left turn into fantasy and it just keeps getting better. I purchased ALL of the series before I started and I’m glad I did because I had to start the next one as soon as I finished one. Wonderful cast of characters. I can’t recommend this series enough.”

“Highly recommended. I’ve read the entire series and loved them all. Loved them so much that I’ve started over and I’m reading the entire series again from the beginning.”

“This is a fabulous find! An excellent rendering of dystopian and myth woven together into a grand sweeping story. A Marine stranded in England, who is honorable, fair and humane. Read it, tis grand.”

“Craig Zerf has written an engrossing story that will keep you reading as fast as you can.”

Paul Kahl4.0 out of 5 stars The Post-Pulse World is a fun place. Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2016

Zerf does a solid job of projecting an image of the end of the world, as we know it. The post-Pulse earth is a bleak and terrifying place for those who were previously glued to their tech. The survivors are those who were able to adapt, and their children. The book stays true to some key characters and introduces broken psyches fairly well. Even the author’s change in tone and language used is explained in a solid way by the story itself.

This is the fourth book in the series, and obviously since I’m still here, I like it. The plot and story move along at a good pace, and the language is solid and reader-friendly. There are a few places where Craif Zerf uses words that are blatantly archaic, in non-archaic settings. The interesting part of this is that, in later books, those words are abandoned for more modern versions, even as the scenes in the book become less modern.

The characters are solid, and well-planned, but the nicknames for them, used not just in speech, but in description, are often unexplained. That said, the characters are likable, and frequently multi-dimensional. On the whole, the series has just been good, clean, fun. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Nathanial has established the free state north of Hadrian’s wall and the Fair-folk have made it obvious that they are preparing for war. An attack on a coastal village from Ireland draws Nathanial’s attention and retribution is swift and complete. After some negotiating with the defeated leader, Nathanial and his troops cross the channel and find out that Ireland has been victimized by the Annilators, who only seem repelled by gold. An attack defeats them but the truth is, they may be coming to England. Another race of flying aliens is also discovered, only to find that they are allies who have been defeated by the Annilators on their home planet. On top of all that, Milly is abducted by the Fair Folk and offered as a trade for Nathanial. He handles this in his normal straightforward way and returns home without her, the Fair Folk attempt failing.
